Twenty five track collection that serves as a follow up to Ace’s “Finders Keepers – Motown Girls” compilation of a few years ago and as ever the standard across these tracks – mostly unissued – is high. Brenda Holloway’s ‘Reassure Me That You Love Me’ is a superb dancer, Gladys Knight’s pleading “Any Girl In Love (Knows What I’m Going Through)” is instantly catchy, Barbara Randolph tackles the Isley’s ‘My Love Is Your Love’, “Now That Love Is Gone” from Hattie Littles is a mid-tempo gem while Connie Hines’ “Mr Pride And Mr Gloom” is outstanding. The quality here is staggering and amazing to think the bulk of these remained canned or largely unheard. Essential!
