1970 release for experimentalist David Axelrod, this album essentially contains two suites: The Warning Talk and The Sign, both in four parts and serves as Axelrod’s ode to the ecology, something pretty apt right now. The Jazzy ambient of Warning Talk Part 1 gives way to a jazzier edge on Part 2, before a more beat heavy Part 3 which then develops into a vocally soaring crescendo. The Sign again switches and changes between spoken work passages, emphatic choral sections and beat drenched, jazz movements. As ever, a far-reaching, mind expanding journey from the imagination of this visionary. This expanded set includes instrumental versions too.
