Lee Moses
How Much Longer Must I Wait – Singles & Rarities 1965-1972
£29.99
Format: LP, Vinyl
The definitive collection of Lee Moses’ legendary non-album tracks available together for the first time also contains three previously unreleased songs. Typified by a raw, rough recording quality and Moses’ full on vocals, most of the tracks here pre-date 1971’s Time and Place LP with most recorded with Atlanta producer Johnny Brantley. The screaming ‘Bad Girl’ is a classic and funk/northern floors, the blues drenched ‘I’m Sad About It’ is an epic while the bustling funker ‘Never In My Life’ finds Moses on his best preacher-style vocal performance a top an unrelenting, growling groove. ‘I Can’t Take No Chances’ is a superb slab of crossover, the chugging ‘How Much Longer (Must I wait)’ is a pounding funk number while the emphatic southern finger clicker sounds like it’s on the verge on collapse but offers a glimpse into the rehearsal room. Rough, raw and ready!
