Keyboardist Roland Haynes recorded this funky Jazz gem ‘2nd Wave’ for the Black Jazz label in 1975. His Fender Rhodes glides over Henry Franklin’s Bass and Carl Burnett energetic drumming on this six track album. ‘Eglise’ Is a mid tempo groove ‘Second Wave’ starts with great drumming from Burnett which not surprisingly has been sampled followed by some frantic keyboard riffs from Haynes as it shifts along. ‘Descent’ and ‘Kirstns place’ are also taken at a break neck speed. ‘Funky mama moose’ has that Ramsey Lewis style feel good groove and chant like semi vocals. One of the funkiest albums from the Black Jazz label.
