Melvin Wah Wah Watson was a hugely in demand session rhythm guitarist. His only solo album ‘Elementary’ was released in 1976. Highlights of this set apart from the standard of musicianship are Wah Wah’s own version of ‘Bubbles’, he co-wrote for Herbie Hancock and the version of ‘Cry Baby’ previously recorded with Quincy Jones are highlights. ‘Love My Blues Away’ is a mellow wandering gem featuring Ernie Watts and check the gentle ‘My Love For You Comes And Goes’. ‘Together’ is a funky cut heavily featured is Louis Johnson’s thumbed bass.
