New releases and pre-orders 14th of September 2018

John Reid long awaited  ‘Nightcrawlers Soul Sessions’ CD is finally here, please accept our apologies for the long delay caused by a manufacturer issue, all pre-orders have been sent.The album is a strong collection of 13 contemporary Soulful grooves. Brandon Coleman is one of the keyboardists with Kamasi Washington and his debut album ‘Resistance’ on the Brainfeeder label
is a very funky affair with a modern twist, well worth checking.  Triforce are another new London Jazz band on the Jazz Refeshed label, fresh music ! raul Midon teams up with the Metropole Orkest with another interesting album.
There are some great reissues this week with Sylvia Striplin’s, Roy Ayers produced classic album, on Cd and Lp,  Ralph Thomas rare Spiritual Jazz outing from the Strata label , the super rare Japanesse Jazz album by Ryo Fukui ‘Scenery’ and Afro beat ‘Buari’ self titled album, plus another good Salsoul compilation.
Debra Laws rare ‘Very Special’ 12″ plus Six Foot Under funky ‘Hot Foxy Woman’ and Latin Underground featuring 3 double A side Latin groovers complete the single releases.

National album day

The BBC have devised an event that aims to celebrate the Album in all its glory  to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the LP record. Soul Brother will be publishing lists of the best albums for each genre and playing back whole classic albums in store during week preceding the day at 3.33pm  and on the day itself through the day with a very special album at 3.33., i hope that you can join us.
