Bob James’ arrangements and compositions are synonymous with the CTI label. This double CD puts together his four albums that he recorded for the label in one package. All the classics are here like the awesome Jazz Funk groover ‘Westchester Lady’, and the wonderfully crafted ‘Nautilus’ – both sampled mercilessly. ‘Storm King’ and the beautiful ‘I Feel A Song’ featuring the delightful vocals of Patti Austin are further expressions of Bob’s musical genius. Bob’s light touch is evident on the beautiful ‘Women Of Ireland’ and the much sampled ‘Take Me To The Mardi Gras’. James also shows his classical music training on cuts like ‘Night On Bald Mountain’ and the funky ‘Farandole’, whilst ‘Valley Of The Shadows’ expresses Mr James love of the avant-garde. This is probably Bob’s finest work and a must for all Bob James fans.
