From 1969, this majestic album of Soul Jazz is full of upbeat grooves. ‘HNIC’ Sounds uncannily like the Isley Brothers’ ‘It’s Your Thing’ and ‘Flat Backing’ has a melody not unlike David bowie’s ‘Golden Years’. The popular sample ‘Na Ta Ka’, ‘Blue Dashiki’ and ‘Heads Down’ are all vibrant Soul Jazz grooves.
