Italian Soul Jazz singer releases his follow-up to ‘Sun’ and like that album, ‘Beyond’ focusses on the Soul side of things. Vocally, Mario Biondi is on form especially on the mid-tempo ‘Love Is A Temple’ and ‘Open Up Your Eyes’. The up-tempo dancer ‘You Can’t Stop The Love Between Us’ is a winner as is the funkier ‘Blind’. An early 80s vibe propels the infectious ‘Another Kind Of Love’ whilst The Dap Kings join Mario on the 60’s Soul influenced ‘Heart Of Stone’. ‘All I Want Is You’ is a dreamy very slow ballad. A welcome return from Italy’s premier Soul singer.
