Trumpeter Theo Croker returns with another interesting album which combines Futuristic Jazz with the tradition, Soul and Rap featuring many guest musicians and vocalists. ‘Soul Call || Vibrate’ follows the path of his previous albums, a nice mid tempo instrumental. ‘Every Part Of Me’ was co-written by Ego Ella May who performs background vocals, Ari Lennox taking lead vocals on this atmospheric Neo Soul tune. Charlotte Dos Santos sings on ‘Lucid Dream’ a multi paced song, and Malaya on the more upbeat bouncy ‘Happy Feet (For Dancers)’. Gary Bartz joins on Alto and Soprano Saxes on the mellow spiritual floater ‘Anthem’. ‘Imperishable Star’ is a really nice mid tempo instrumental and ‘Pathways’ finishes the album on a high with an upper mid tempo groove. Theo has already firmly established himself as one of the leading contemporary Jazz artists and this album continues to confirm this and may even bring him to a wider audience.
