‘Brooklyn Butterfly Session’ is the third album by the Rongetz Foundation. Led by French trumpeter Stephane Rongetz, the album infuses Soul and Hip Hop into a Jazz setting. The album kicks off with two songs featuring man of the moment Gregory Porter. ‘Gogo Soul’ is a driving slice contemporary Soul. Whilst ‘Hard Bop Merry Go Round’ swings. Zhane’s Renee Neufville adds a sultry vocal to the sleak ‘Eunice K’. The vocal duties pass to Marvin parks on the uplifting and staccato ‘The Braggart’. Highly recommended.
