Excellent groovy 60’s style Dance floor Jazz with funky Latin rhythms and plenty of percussion and a touch of exotica from the usually reliable Bahama Soul Club. ‘Cuban Tapes’ contains 15 tracks including the highly rhythmic ‘That’s What I Need’ featuring a nice Willis Jackson sax backdrop. ‘Tiki SuitePt 1 –Cuban Casbah’ and ‘Ay Jona’ have some nice piano led dance grooves. ‘La Serenata’ is more laid back Funky Jazz, and ‘Cuervo Gold’ has a more exotic mystic feel whilst retaining the groove. Ruthie Foster shines on ‘Grinning in Your face’.
