Italian based Brazilian chanteuse, Rosalia De Souza delivers probably he best album ever. Drawing on the musically rich Brazilian songbook, she along with Nicola Conte/ Mario Biondi’s band breathes new life into these classics. The combination of her exquisite voice and the band’s incredible musicianship is irresistible. The tracks just glide with grace, check ‘Banzo’ and he title song! Jorge Ben’s ‘Carolina Carol Bela’ and ‘Luiza Manequim’ are ridiculously catchy. ‘Opinao’ and ‘Sambinha’ fuse a jazzier vibe with the Brazilian core. The arrangements by pianist Luca Mannutza are the work of genius; this album could become the soundtrack to the summer and invoke images of Rio!
