Leela James has established herself as the leading gritty female soul singer of our time. Her rich Deeply soulful voice has echoes of the greats like Etta James, and she is on fine form on her forth album ‘Fall for me’. Anthony Hamilton is the perfect musical partner for her and their duet ‘Say That’ is a lovely upbeat mid tempo groover. The slower mid tempo ‘Set Me Free’ is another good track on which her voice shines. The ballads ‘Fall for you’ and ‘Everything’ are great backdrops to showcase Leela’s great voice. Nice to hear a real Soul album again.
