Nubiyan Twist is another band from Leeds and London who merge Jazz with Soul and Afro influences. The 10 piece band third album ‘Freedom Fables’ is their best to date and includes some nice vocal cuts. Cherise Adams –Burnett sings on three the mid tempo jazzy Soul ‘Flow’ , more up tempo funky ‘Tittle Tattle’ and the Latin tinged fusion ‘Keeper’. Ego Ella May fronts ’24-7’ a down tempo song, whilst Ria Morgan sings on ‘Morning Light’ a nice mid tempo groover. Elsewhere legendary Ghanaian vocalist Pat Thomas pops up on the highlife ‘Ma Wonka’ and Soweto Kinch on ‘Buckle Up’ . Nice varied album
