‘R & Better’ is a 1977 album from Roger Hatcher that has remained rare on it’s original LP format. Highlights on this varied and strong set are the uptempo numbers ‘Your Love Is A Masterpiece’, the JB ode ‘The Thang’ and the southern dancer ‘Sleepin’ On The Job’. ‘Daylight Savings Time’ is a wonderful bit of bluesoul that brings to mind the likes of Tyrone Davis and Frankie Saunders while ‘You Must Have Come From Heaven’ is a soaring ballad. Good obscurity with plenty of atmosphere worthy of investigating.
