The O’Jays landmark 1973 social message album ‘Ship ahoy’ is possibly their best and one of the all-time great Soul albums. ‘For The Love of Money’ has a really distinctive hook line and a riveting funky groove. ‘Now That We’ve found love’, and ‘This Air That I Breathe’ are delightful floaters and ‘Put Your hands Together’ a Philly barnstormer. It is however the two 9 min epics ‘Ship Ahoy’ and ‘Don’t Call me Brother’ that define the album. Essential album for all Soul Collections.
