The super silky smooth voice of Will Downing has given us some great Sophisticated Soul for 25 years. On his first independently produced album ‘Silver’ he teams up with Chris’ Big Dog’ Davis and has made another great record. The mid tempo dancer ‘Stuff Like That’ will keep you grooving, and the mid tempo ‘One Step Closer’ and ‘Never Find Another Love’ are also highlights. Will excels on ballads and his cover of Sam Dees ‘Send For me’ produced by Rex Rideout is sheer quality. The duet with Avery Sunshine ‘You We’re Meant Just For me’ and ‘Only One’ co-written with Gary Taylor ooze class. Really good album
