Brief but essential 6 track set that pulls together unedited 12” mixes of a grip of Inner Life’s best disco works, ‘Stars Of Salsoul’ is a must for die-hard disco fans. Jocelyn Brown’s was the group’s lead vocalist and some of the tracks here are truly ahead of their time: ‘Moments Of My Life’ (Shep Pettibone 12″ Extended Version) just goes stratospheric, the chilled out ‘Make It Last Forever’ (Larry Levan 12” remix) shows that it wasn’t all four-to-the-floor, while Pettibone funks up I Like It Like That’ on the 12″ Version here. ‘(Knock Out) Let’s Go Another Round’ (Tee Scott 12″ Remix) also brings the boogie while Larry Levan’s Paradise Garage mix of ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’ was and remains an anthem.
