Terri Shaltiel hails from Leeds. Her very creditable debut EP ‘Sweet Thing’ features seven self penned and produced raw funky or Bluesy soul tracks, the lyrics reflecting her life experiences. She also plays guitar and is backed by a funky band incl a Hammomd Organ. ‘Pick It Up’ is a really funky cut influenced by Lyn Collins, ‘This bitch’ and ‘Daddy Bad’ owe more to Marva Whitney. ‘Lose my mind and ‘Now I’M Gone’ are slightly Bluesier. Her gender changed adaptation of the
spiritual ‘Fatherless Child/Daddy Bossa’ is very personal, illustrating her powerful voice.

Marvelous voice, great lyrics and stunning gutsy performances from start to end. Well worth a listen – hopefully there’s a lot more to come.

Brilliant voice. What a range of musical notes with fantastic songs. A real pleasure to see singing. Live. And the CD is one of the best buys that can be made. I am sure I am already well on the way to wearing the CD out already after a week of solid play. But look out for a gig to attend
