Sydney based Funk band Dojo Cuts are another James Brown inspired/ influenced outfit. Listen to the cover of Marva Whitney’s ‘What Do I Have To Do’ or the fast furious ‘Sonny’s Strut’ and the overtones are for there for all to hear. On the more Soul orientated such as ‘Take From Me’, the understated ‘Sometimes It Hurts and Etta James’ ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’ the band are superb and it gives lead singer Roxie Ray to show her vocal prowess.
