This Double CD packages together the two albums recorded by the World’s Experience Orchestra in the late 70’s. These underground Spiritual Jazz albums were the work of visionary bassist John Jamyll Jones and his ensembles. They feature some beautiful music with spoken word lyrics and chants, mystical stuff. The highlights include ‘The Prayer’ a near 15 min self defining epic. ‘Rain’ and ‘Black Woman’ are beautiful mesmerising flute backed vocal tracks. ‘Nine Degrees and Cold’ has similarities to early Gil Scott Heron Flying Dutchman recordings. Best of all ‘To Do Nothing’ is a 19 minute epic with a social message urging his people to get involved and create a better life for themselves. These obscure albums are a major find.
