Drummer Alphonse Mouzon recorded this Jazz funk masterpiece in 1976 backed by an almost encyclopaedic cast of musicians. The Man incognito may refer to the appearance of George Duke under a pseudo name, whose funky keyboards is a highlight throughout. ‘Snake Walk’ is a great punchy jazz funk dancer with great horn stabs and a real standout. ‘New York City’, ‘Without a Reason’, ‘Mouzon Moves on’ and ‘Dance Your Troubles Away’ are jazz funk with a capitol F. The more atmospheric ‘Before You leave’ and the dynamic ‘Behind Your Mind’ add contrast to this lesser know but substantial album

as a fan of Alphonse Mouzon,. i bought the lp back in 1976, it was a Lp that grew on me after time , there were some instant loveable tracks on it but some would grow on me in time , you cant fault the musicians and it is full of great bits,my Lp however is no longer playable so i asked the great Alphonse Mouzon if he knew if i could get it on cd, he told my soul brother have it,
so here i am am buying it and reviewing it’s , well worth buying if you like something to treasure.
thank you for your time. and a special thank you to M.R Mouzon for being so nice as to talk to me, djsnoopyspain.
