Quality independent soul from XXception to the rule with a traditional soul and gospel feel. ‘Then and now’ features a mixture of new and previously unreleased material dating from late 70’s to date. ‘Darkie’ is a killer old school 80’s soul dancer in a SOS Band style, originally recorded in ’78 but recently re-recorded and mastered. The powerful beat ballad ‘Angel In Disguise’ is from the same era. The excellent big ballad ‘Call Me’ dates from ’92. ‘Loving You is The Best Thing’, ‘I’m Feeling’, ‘As Love As Forever’ and ‘I’m Through With You’ are also good ballads. Strong Old School soul.
