1982 album, ‘Wright Back At You’ was Betty Wright’s second and final album for Epic. From the off the feel is very much of its time: the high energy ‘Burning Desire’ no doubt hoped to score big chart success, the reggae groove of ‘She’s Older Now’ works well with her voice with a warm production in effect, the boogie funk intro of ‘Special Love’ slides into a sweet modern soul number that has the hallmarks of its joint writers, none less than four of the Jacksons, while ‘Show Me’ is a mid tempo highlight that was co-written by Betty and Paul Parker. There’s a definite shift in the sound on many of the tracks here with the label no doubt looking for chart hits – the one constant is Betty’s brilliant vocals. This edition includes three bonus versions.
