The Spring records catalogue heralds a rich source of great Soul and Funk records recorded in the 70s. Acid Jazz and Ace have commissioned new remixes on 11 tracks from the label refreshing these classic cuts for today’s dancefloor. Millie Jackson ‘We Got To Hit It Off’ is remixed by Dimitri from Paris and all time classic ‘Don’t Send Nobody Else’ by Marcus Fryberg and Kenny Dope to great effect. The Fatback Band ‘Snake’ gets a noteworthy remix from Joe Clausell, ‘Groovy Kind Of Day’ by Opolopo and ‘Night Fever’ ,by Kenny Dope. DJ Spinna really brings Joe Simon ‘Love Vibration’ to life. Garland Green ‘Sending My Best Wishes’ (The Reflex), Street People ‘I Wanna Get Over’ and The Joneses ‘Love Contest (Dave Lee) are great Philly dancers given a more urgent contemporary backbeat. Really good compilation of classic soul tracks which have more than stood the test of time with a fresh outlook.
