First time reissue of rare 1980 Japanese Jazz album from bassist Isao Suzuki & New Family, featuring Toshiyuki Honda on Sax and Flute Shigeharu Mukai on Trombone. 'Mongolian Chant' features five original Suzuki compositions, including the excellent 11 minute title track which has a driving bassline that propels the track and gives a foundation for some nice solos. 'Joy' is a spritely seven minute cut that reflects its title with nice flute work from Honda. 'Falcon' is a 13 minute opus with some really creative playing that goes through many changes but retains the interest throughout. Another nice obscure record...
