It is an amazing week for new releases and probably the last big week of the year. Greg Foat has made one of the best Jazz albums of the year 'The Dreaming Jewels' a Funky Modal jazz album of the highest order. It's a great week for New and Reissue Jazz releases. Sokratis Votskos may not be a familiar name but he has made a beautiful new Spiritual and Modal Jazz album out on CD and Lp on Jazzman. British Jazz artist Daniel Casimir teams up with vocalist Tess Hirst for a nice album of Jazz and Neo Soul on Jazz Refreshed on Lp only. Najee and Al Foster have good new CD albums. Matthew Halsall's two 2008/2009 albums have been released for the first time on vinyl in remastered and remixed form with bonus cuts and document his earliest recordings with flautist Chip Wickham, saxophonist Nat Birchall, harpist Rachael Gladwin, bassist Gavin Barras and drummer Gaz Hughes.
