There are many good releases, reissues and restocks this week.  Firstly we have the amazing Bobby Lyle 'The Genie' reissue Lp on our own Soul Brother label , a great classic Jazz-Funk Lp produced by Wayne Henderson , which looks and sounds amazing. Keyboard wizard Bobby Lyle’s Classic Jazz funk album from 1977, includes the brilliant inventive title track ‘The Genie’, an all time classic that goes through many changes but retains its groove throughout. UK soul legend Omar returns with a strong 17 track album which includes collaborations with Ledisi, India Arie, Eric Roberson & Raheem Devaughn, Honey Larochelle and Paul Weller amongst others. Pieces Of A Dream have a new album as does Gerardo Frisina on Schema, Amanda Whiting and Isaiah J Thompson. Album Of The Day | Zaimie – Black Velvet

Zaimie is the collaboration between Zaidi Kiggundu and Jamie McShane who illustrate their love of Soul, Funk and Jazz on their second album 'Black Velvet' . It comprises of eleven tracks which have a strong Brit Funk influence and can be likened to Splash label mates Incognito's sound especially on the  brassy Jazz Funk instrumentals 'Weekend Breeze' , 'Black Velvet' and 'Feel The Rush'. Suzy Duffy adds vocals to the mid tempo groovers 'Can't Do Without' , 'New Life' and  beat ballad 'I Need You' which adds another more soulful dimension to the album. Most of these are 80's and 90s albums that were pressed in small quantities on vinyl or 80's./early 90s reissues. Album Of The Day | Chocolate Milk – Action Speaks Louder Than Words

Chocolate Milk recorded their classic debut album 'Action Speaks Louder Than Words' in New Orleans in 1975. It is produced by legendary New Orleans  producers Allen Toussaint and Marshall Sehorn. New Releases, Reissues and Restocks | Friday 30th May

There are some great new releases , reissues and restocks out this week. Zaimie have a great Jazz-Funk Lp on Splash which will appeal to Incognito fans. Audrey Prowne featured on the excellent Don Glori album and her own album is another good example of quality Jazz from Melbourne. Chocolate Milk's excellent 'Action Speaks Louder Than Words' gets a limited edition Blue Vinyl release, classic Funk from the mid 70s.  Monnette Sudler Sextet 'Brighter Days For You' is an excellent overlooked  Jazz album on Steeplechase from 1977  available in limited quantity.
