UK band Slowly Rolling Camera are building a firm reputation with their unique brand of jazz fused soundscapes and skewed electro grooves, topped by the strong, throaty vocals of Dionne Bennett. ‘All Things’ is their second album and there’s a real sense of experimentation here, especially on highlights such as the light and shade of ‘Delusive’ and the orchestrated, expansive ‘Scintillation’ while the sorrowful ‘Unsetting Sun’ is a wonderfully atmospheric, stripped back slowie. Quite left-field in places with lots of tension and angular ideas coming to the surface. Worth investigating if you’re into something a bit different.
