’16 track compilation focussing on some of the underground sounds coming out of Hawaii between 1979-1985. The breezy yacht-soul of Tender Leaf’s ‘Countryside Beauty’ sets the tone for the album, and Aura’s ‘Seawind’ vibe of ‘Yesterday’s Love’ s a joy. Lemuria’s pacey ‘Get That Happy Feeling’ has been lifted from their self-titled album, Roy & Roe produce a great jazz inflected blue-eyed effort in ‘Just Don’t Come Back’ while Hawaii’s ‘Lady Of My Heart’ is a typical indie soul effort probably almost invisible even as a new release! So much to discover and enjoy here: Marvin Franklin’s deep voiced ‘Kona Winds’ owes much to Leon Thomas while Rockwell Fukino’s ‘Coast To Coast’ is a fusion gem from his rare album. Mike Lundy’s ‘Love one another’ killer cut getting plays
