Flautist Lloyd McNeill’s debut ‘Asha’ hails from 1969. ‘Asha’ has a depth and quasi Coltrane/ Pharaoh feel that builds over its 8-9 minutes. Gorgeous. The theme continues onto ‘St Margaret’s Church, which sounds like a Nimbus tune 10 years before that label. ‘Dig Where Dat’s At’ enjoys a Baptist soul Jazz beat and grooves. The ten minute ‘Warmth Of A Sunny Day’ paints a beautiful landscape as the tune ambles gently along. Another essential Spiritual Jazz album.
