Contemporary post Bop pianist Renee Rosnes cut her teeth playing with Joe Henderson and Bobby Hutcherson. ‘Beloved Of The Sky’ is a fine modern day Jazz set that is quite intense and high brow. ‘Elephant Dust’ is edgy with more than a nod towards the avant-garde. The pretty Hutcherson penned ‘Rosie’ is dedicated to his wife and it is a gorgeous composition. ‘Black Holes’ is a heavy duty jazzy groove; in contrast check the bright and breezy ‘Rhythm Of The River’. ‘Let The Rumpus Start’ concludes a quality post Bop set.
