Bobby Harden and The Soulful Saints burst on to the scene with their fantastic string laden ‘Running (To Get To Your Love)’ single in 2019, one of the best ever retro Northern Soul dancers, which if you didn’t know better you would have thought has been recorded in the mid to late 60’s.
They at long last release their debut album ‘ Bridge Of Love’ on Dala records. ‘Its My Time’, ‘Raise Your Mind’ and the slightly slower ‘One Night Of The Week’ are also strong late 60s style dancers. ‘One Tribe’ is a good uptempo horn backed track
Which has more of a mid 70s feel. ‘Feels So Good’ is a really nice mid tempo 70s Modern Soul floater, and is another highlight. There are also two really good mid tempo ballads ‘Wounded Woman’ and ‘Bridge Of Love’ which would have fit easily onto a Charles Bradley album. Very strong retro Soul album, well worth checking out.
