Renowned guitarist/songwriter/vocalist Jonathan Butler mines the Burt Bacharach catalogue to present 11 covers of the legendary composer’s work. Butler adds his own interpretation to classics such as ‘This Guy’s In Love With You’ giving it a smooth, soulful twist, ‘I Say A Little Prayer’ which is reworked as a smooth jazz ode, a modern R&B touch to ‘(They Long To Be) Close To You’ and an 80s jazzy soul take on ‘The Look Of Love’ that breezes along. ‘What The World Needs Now’ is a nice, gentle quiet storm reading while ‘Do You Know The Way To San Jose’ is a bright, uplifting dancer with a groove.
