Charles Earland’s 3 albums recorded for Columbia are included on this double CD. As bonus tracks his classic Jazz Funk anthem ‘Let The Music Play’ and sublime ‘Intergalactic Love Song’ are added too. Highlights of ‘Coming To You Live’ are the title track, the funky ‘Good Question’ and the mellow Soul of ‘It’s The Woman In You.’ Marcus Miller guests. Larry Blackmon (Cameo) adds some production chores to ‘Earland’s Jam’. Try the very Cameo sounding ‘The Only One’, the cover of Stephanie Mills’ ‘Never Knew Love Like This Before’, the catchy ‘Mercy’ and the fine Jazz Funk of ‘Marcia’s Waltz’. ‘Earland’s Street Themes’ has more of an 80’s vibe which comes through strongly on ‘Be My Lady’. There is a nice 2 Step vibe to ‘Walk With Me’ and try the infectious ‘Street Themes’
