This album marks the 20th anniversary of the Far Out label. Jose Roberto Bertrami and Alex Malheiros of Azymuth are amongst the eighteen musicians on this lovely Brazilian Jazz and disco album. Bertrami plays Fender Rhodes, Hammond Organ, and other keyboards, on what was to be one of his last recordings.The album has Brazilian, Jazz, Disco and classic Philly Soul influences featuring lush strings and strong dance grooves. ‘Last Carnival’ is effectively an updated version of the Azymuth classic ‘Jazz Carnival’. ‘Mystery’ ft Arthur Verocai is a soulful disco groove. The albums killer cut is ‘Vendetta’, written by Daniel Maunick, which has an unrelenting groove and swirling strings which build to a crescendo. The album is a wonderful celebration of Brazilian music and for Joe Davis who has kept faith with the music and run the label for 20 years.
