From 1978 ‘For The Sake Of Love’ is a typical Hayes set: a mix of ballads and heavier dancers all varnished with the ‘Black Moses’’ rich baritone and topped off with immaculate production. Standout cuts are the disco edged ‘Shaft II’ that omits Isaac’s vocals, and the Disco funk ‘Zeke The Freak’. ‘Don’t Let Me Be Lonely Tonight’ is the pick of the slower cuts: a mellow groove coming in at just under seven minutes that builds and builds.
