Italian Saxophonist Alessandro Scala makes his second album for the Schema label, a strong organ groove quintet album Groove Island’ featuring Flavio Boltro on Trumpet on 4 of the 9 tracks. ‘Hello & Goodbye’, ‘Groovology’, ‘Viaggio Stellare’, ‘Game Over’, ‘Dancing in the Sky’ and ‘Groove Island’ are good up tempo 60’s style organ jazz grooves. The 10 minute opus ‘Minghe’ has a more subtle 70’s Fender Rhodes groove and more intensity and it features Flavio’s best solo on the set. Good lively album throughout
