Swamp Dogg produced this terrific Irma Thomas Southern Soul album in the early 70’s originally for Canyon Records, although it was not released until the mid 70’s on his own Fungus records. ‘In Between Tears’ is a superb upper mid tempo song which Irma rips up with her powerhouse voice. ‘What’s so wrong with you loving me’ is another great mid tempo track. The up tempo ‘Turn my world around’ and ‘You’re the Dog (i’ll do the barking)’ are punchier. The ballads ‘She’ll never be your wife’, ‘These Four walls’ and the longer ‘Wish Someone Would Care’ illustrate Irma’s voice. The pre –album 45 sides ‘We Won’t Be in your way Anymore’ and I’ll Do it all over you’ are added as bonus cuts. Classic Southern Soul.
