These two albums were recorded by the Stylistics for Mercury in 1978 and 1979 respectively. This is smooth Soul at its smoothest on tracks like ‘There’ll Never Be Another You’ and the typically Stylistics ballad ‘First Impressions’. The modern Soul sounding ‘You’re The Best Thing In My Life’ – great vocal harmonies, strings and a mellow groove. ‘Love Spell’ has a great uptempo Soul cut in ‘One Night Affair’ plus a wonderful mellow tune in ‘Between Hello And Goodbye’, which is a slice of 70’s magic. There are several ballads of note especially ‘I Won’t Forget To Tell You I Love You’.
