Shaun Escoffrey returns a decade after his last album with a new Soul album aided by some top British musicians including the excellent Mark Vandergucht on Guitar. ‘Natures Call’ is an instant catchy uptempo number that has a strong Curtis Mayfield influence in the vocals and social political lyrics, which may provide with his biggest hit to date. ‘Perfect Love Affair’ is a lovely mid tempo floater with Strings and Harp backing, which also has a Curtis feel to it. The Beat ballad ‘Nobody Knows’ also has a retro Soul feel and its vibe suits Shaun’s delicate voice. The rest of the album has a different vibe.
