Donald Byrd’s huge ‘Black Byrd’, Ronnie Laws’ ‘Always There’ and Bobbi Humphrey’s ‘Harlem River Drive’ are Fusion essentials. On the vocal side Dianne reeves’ ‘That’s All’ and Carmen McRae’s version of ‘Can’t Hide Love’ are very strong. Great introduction to Blue Note.
