Sublime 1980 soul – ‘Just You And Me’ has every ingredient in place – incisive horns, jangling rhythm guitar, punchy, stop start tempo and pleading vocals that soar. It’s a mystery, then how this never made it bigger or remains the groups only effort. Definite touches of Sun’s ‘Dance’ from 78, this is a real gem and so hard on original 45. The lilting flip side is a slow burn gem. Stunning two-sider.
