Aretha Franklin released her fantastic Lady Soul album in 1968. It contains many of her biggest records ‘Chain of Fools’, ‘(You make me feel like) A natural woman, ‘Since you’ve been gone’ which will be known to many. It also includes lesser known some real gems ‘Ain’t No Way’ a magnificent ballad written by sister Carolyn on which her voice soars, and her versions of Curtis Mayfield’s ‘People Get ready’ and Young Rascals ‘Groovin’ and the ballad ‘Good to me as i am to you’ co written with husband Ted White. The Queen of soul at her prime !
