Jazz vocalist extraordinare Leon Thomas second album for the Flying Dutchman label from 1970 featured a big band with five horn players and many percussionists. ‘Bags Groove’ is a brilliant version of the Milt Jackson’s classic. ‘Um Um Um’ is a beautiful track with flute backing and the 17 minute ‘Pharoah’s Tune (the Journey)’ is top drawer spiritual jazz.
