There’s a clash of secular and gospel here – the lilting ‘Let Jesus Work It Out’ is an impassioned, deep soul effort, the uptempo ‘My Rock’ is celabratory and uplfliting while ‘Shelter’ is another hope-filled beat ballad with southern touches. ‘Lord Hold My Hand’ is aspare and stripped back allowing the strength of the voices to shine through while the upbeat ‘I Got Everything (When I Got God)’ ends on a joyful note.
