Recorded at the legendary Village Vanguard in December 2014, this trio session is by and large a classy straight-ahead Jazz set. Bassist McBride who can turn his fingers to numerous styles excels. Standout track for our market is the take of Rose Royce’s classic ‘Car Wash’. ‘Sand Dune’ has an early 60s Coltrane feel whereas J J Johnson’s ‘Interlude’ is urgent and fast paced.
