The eagerly anticipated Eric Benet album has a retro feel. The up-tempo duets with Faith Evans ‘Feel Good’ and with Ledisi ‘Good Life’ are strong late 70s/early 80s style dancers. ‘Stir It Up’ is a fine mid-tempo cut complete with strings and subtle horns. They are a host of nice ballads and slowies that give Eric’s impassioned vocals shine like the aptly titled ‘Summer Love’ and the lilting ‘Something’s Wrong’. A top album and return to the quality that Eric enjoyed on his first two albums.
