Finnish tenor sax man Timo Lassy releases his fourth album ‘Love Bullet’. It is a mix of 60s modal Jazz with some experimental elements as well as some nice mellow tunes. ‘Undecided’ is one of 3 tracks featuring Jukka Eskola’s trumpet and is an elongated slightly leftfield journey. On ‘Green Pepper Strut’ Timo Lassy offers a Soul Jazz handclapping groove not unlike a 60’s Stanley Turrentine session. Lassy hits A Hard Bop route on the flowing ‘Hip Or Not’ that echoes the music of Hank Mobley, whilst ‘Fast Fabio’ positively zips along. Excellent Jazz set.
